A water taxi or river taxi is a boat used for public transportation in cities with abundant water channels. Many cities, including New York City have scheduled water taxis which operate in a similar manner to ferries or buses.

This method of transport has become more and more popular over the years of its operation. Many people say that it is one of the most relaxing ways to travel on your route to work or just as a day out, instead of having to sit on a crowded bus in the middle of a city.
A water taxi transports passengers who live in a city or local area which has an abundance of water surrounding it. Daily fares can range from $15 upwards for a single trip journey, return journeys can cost anything from $25 to $35. Some of the states in the America such as Chicago offer sight seeing facilities by the use of a water taxi, for a daily charge passengers can enjoy a cruise around areas of specific locations enjoying the sights.
The state of Boston offers a water taxi service which is able to transport it passengers to and from Boston's Logan Airport. Services such as these are used very frequently due to the large amount of people who travel to and from the airport every day.
